Luke Winter founded Winter Analytics to serve organisations that need an experienced hand to guide the development of their most important strategic assets. The work is direct, evidence-led and focused on decisions where data, assumptions and executive judgement need to meet.
About Luke
Luke has decades of experience working with questions that rarely have a simple answer—where the evidence is incomplete, assumptions matter, and leaders need to balance analysis with judgement. His experience spans economics, analytics, forecasting, performance measurement and organisational decision-making, with particular depth in financial services and member-based organisations.
He is particularly effective at working between the technical detail and the larger decision. He can examine the logic behind a model, identify what is missing from a performance framework, challenge an assumption or help a leadership team clarify what the evidence is really saying.
His early background in economic research continues to shape his approach: make assumptions visible, distinguish evidence from inference, and be clear about uncertainty. He has since built and led analytics capabilities inside large, complex organisations, giving him a practical understanding of what it takes for good analysis to influence real decisions.
That experience also means Luke understands the organisational side of the work. A technically correct answer is not always a useful one. Recommendations need to reflect the operating environment, withstand scrutiny and give people a practical way forward.
Clients work directly with Luke throughout an engagement. This creates continuity from the initial question through to the analysis, recommendations and implementation, without layers of handover or a rotating project team.

Luke lives with his two pet rabbits: Persephone and Artemis. He is passionate about the welfare of domestic rabbits and in support of this, Winter Analytics donates 10% of annual pre-tax profit to Rabbit Run-Away Orphanage, a Victorian rescue supporting domestic rabbits that need care, treatment and rehoming.
